The SIPF is delighted to announce the approach of the next regional festival for musicians of all ages who are residents of Washington and Oregon states. The Virtuoso Festival takes the place of the Romantic Festival that was last held in 2013. In the coming days, we will be posting the complete rules and guidelines.
The new Virtuoso Festival is open to solo pianists and violinists of all ages, chamber ensembles featuring piano, as well as a Grand Prix division for pianists. Narrow age categories define the solo division, but the Grand Prix division features young virtuosi of the Northwest between the ages of 12 to 18, requiring the performance of a work by both Chopin and Liszt, one of which must feature virtuosity and brilliant passages. The chance for cash prizes as well as participation in the international master classes of the Seattle International Piano Festival at Benaroya Hall between October 16-19 await three gold medalists.
The Virtuoso Festival takes place all day Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bellevue. More details forthcoming, including electronic application.
