The countdown to Bach begins as the Seattle International Piano Festival (SIPF) presents the twelfth twelfth annual Bach Festival (online edition) for pianists and instrumentalists of any nationality, featuring works by Johann Sebastian Bach, as well as other Baroque masters. Exclusively online, this year’s event invites all instrumentalists, from string players to flutists, to submit pre-recorded videos for review by top adjudicators.
In order to create fair opportunities, this festival breaks down areas of participation into age brackets as well as genre specific categories. Each category delineates specific works, such as partitas, preludes and fugues, or miscellaneous works by J.S. Bach. Categories are also included for Baroque Masters, such as Quantz and Handel, in addition to works by the titular master.
Share your love of this revered composer and other contemporaries. Opportunities to receive medals and constructive feedback from some of the leading experts in the field await this year’s participants.
The countdown to Bach continues. Mark your calendars.
