10th Seattle International Piano Competition
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The SIPF announces a deadline change for the 2024 Seattle International Piano Competition. Candidates have until 11:59 pm (UTC/GMT -7), June 30 to prepare and submit their applications.
OVERVIEW
A two-round competition, participants are invited to submit videos for a preliminary review. Finalists are selected (up to six in each competitive category) to appear during September 21 and 22, 2024, before a live audience and a blind jury in Seattle, Washington.
The SIPC is now one of the world’s few piano competitions conducted blind.
PRIZES
- Professional Artist – $6,000 in total cash prizes
- Collegiate Artist – $6,000 in total cash prizes
- Youth, age 14-18 – $1,250 in total cash prizes
- Youth, age 10-13 – $950 in total cash prizes
- Youth, ages 9 and under – 6 unranked gold medalists, live debut in Seattle
Plus other cash and non-cash prizes
RULES
The 2024 edition contains many new rules, including
- identical preliminary and final round
- video submissions
- return to live final round format with blind jury
- numerous work-specific additional prizes
