Susanna Lee Sabirianov

Susanna Lee Sabirianov is an accomplished pianist and educator based in Omaha, Nebraska. Born in Malaysia and raised in Singapore, she was exposed to a rich and diverse musical culture from an early age, shaping her distinctive artistic approach. Her early training was recognized with the prestigious Piano Performance Certificate and multiple distinction awards from the London Royal School of Music. Driven by her passion for piano, she moved to the United States to further her studies under the esteemed Martha Beauchamp Scholarship, setting the foundation for a distinguished career in both performance and pedagogy.

With over 22 years of teaching experience, Susanna is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music and a sought-after mentor for students of all ages and skill levels. Her pedagogical expertise has been shaped by extensive studies under renowned educators, including Alfred Publishing editor E.L. Lancaster and acclaimed author Jane Magrath. She has worked with students ranging from preschoolers to college-level musicians, tailoring her instruction to individuals’ learning styles, strengths, and goals. Many of her students have excelled in competitions, festivals, and recitals, earning them placement in prestigious music programs at institutions such as Berklee College of Music, Indiana University Bloomington, and the University of Southern California.

Beyond her private studio, Susanna has held teaching positions at Union College and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she contributed to the development of young musicians. She is deeply committed to student engagement, encouraging participation in local and national music festivals, masterclasses, and performance opportunities. In recognition of her expertise, Susanna frequently serves as an adjudicator for Nebraska local music festivals and competitions, helping to guide and inspire young musicians through her insightful evaluations.

In addition to her contributions as an educator, Susanna has an extensive performance career. She has appeared in numerous solo and collaborative recitals and has been a finalist and winner in multiple concerto competitions, showcasing her expressive artistry and technical brilliance. In 1998, she made her concerto debut performing Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Orchestra, a defining moment in her journey as a musician. She continues to share her love for music through solo performances, church concerts, and collaborations with accomplished musicians. As an experienced accompanist, she regularly works with vocalists and instrumentalists, supporting students in public high schools and music programs with expert musical guidance.

Susanna holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with highest distinction from the University of Oklahoma, where she studied under Dr. Edward Gates. She later earned her Master of Music degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, studying with Dr. Mark Clinton and Joan Reist.
